Universal Parks & Resorts, the people behind that overhyped Halloween Horror Nights, have announced they’re bringing their crap to Las Vegas. They’re calling it a “brand-new permanent horror experience.” Give me a break. It’s just their usual library of classic horror films mixed with today’s subpar tales, all dressed up in some fancy, immersive experiences that turn into bars at night.
This is the first time they’ve tried this outside their theme parks and it’s supposed to deliver the thrills that their fans love. But who cares about that? They’re also promising updated experiences, seasonal events, and merchandise. Yawn.
This horror experience will be the main attraction in the expansion of Las Vegas’ AREA15 entertainment district, taking up a whopping 110,000 square feet. AREA15 has already drawn in over four million visitors since its opening in 2020, but who cares?
The mayor, councilwoman, and CEO of AREA15 are all excited about this, but I couldn’t care less. They say it’s a “perfect fit” for AREA15 and will bring “high-quality, exciting entertainment.” Pfft.
Universal hasn’t announced the opening date yet, but they’re saying they’ll share more details soon. Big whoop. Universal Parks & Resorts is just another unit of Comcast NBCUniversal, known for their overpriced theme parks that offer supposedly thrilling attractions based on films and TV shows.
I’ve got better things to do than waste my time on this.
